FAQ
We run a professional tax prep operation-not a $99 strip-mall kiosk.
We pay for professional-grade tax software, secure e-filing systems, and data protection so your return is prepared carefully and filed correctly.
If you want it done right, it isn’t the cheapest option online.
Preparation and e-filing of your federal return and the included state return for your selected plan,
plus document review and basic follow-ups to complete your filing.
After we review your forms and confirm your plan. No surprises-we confirm the final price before we file.
If we find anything outside your plan-extra states, rentals, additional Schedule C businesses, K-1s, etc.-we’ll send a quick quote before continuing.
You’ll always know before any extra charge is billed.
Because quality work takes planning. Dropping documents right before the deadline turns it into an emergency. Our document deadlines protect accuracy, allow time for questions/corrections, and keep communication smooth. Miss the deadline and your return may be filed on extension.
Only if there’s room-and they cost more. Rush work means reshuffling other clients and working nights/weekends. If you come in within 14 days of the filing deadline, a rush fee may apply; within 7 days, an even higher rush fee may apply. If we can’t responsibly complete it, we’ll recommend filing an extension instead.
That’s totally fine. There are plenty of preparers at different price points. Our focus is on accuracy, clear communication, and a smooth process-especially for self-employed filers and Schedule C returns. If that’s what you value, we’re a good fit.
At this time, Miranda Tax focuses on individual tax returns only (including self-employed / Schedule C). We do not prepare separate business entity returns (1120S/1065/1120).
If the notice relates to a return we prepared, we’ll review it and help you understand what’s needed. Simple issues can often be handled with a quick review; more involved situations may require additional time and are billed separately. If you need to respond, we’ll guide you on what to send and what supporting documents to include.
